Kontrol Energy has been building on its partnership with Toyota Tsusho Canada Inc. (TTCI) ever since they announced their strategic partnership in March for a SmartFactory in North America. Toyota's mandate was to upgrade its heavy machinery operations to a real-time monitoring and analytics platform with the strategic goal of increasing operating efficiencies. Following a 90-day pilot, Kontrol and TTCI were able to deliver a customized digital solution using the Kontrol SmartSite® software platform that both met and exceeded the Customer's expectations.
On September 17th, Kontrol Announced that they had received their first initial order from Toyota for the Smart Factory based in Ontario, Canada. Through detailed review of the plant and its operations, KNR has formulated an approximate $850,000 retrofit upgrade with an initial $180,000 upgrade for 2019. CEO of Kontrol Energy Mr. Paul Ghezzi stated: “We are pleased to receive our first SmartFactory order and excited about the potential opportunity in both Canada and the United States.” General Manager of Toyota Tsusho Mr. Yuji Shibano stated: “We look forward to expanding our strategic alliance with Kontrol Energy across Canada, and also into the United States market to help our customers improve operating efficiencies and increase cost savings.” This statement from Toyota Tsusho is a key point of information as it insinuates that they intend to not only expand its operations and relationship with KNR in Canada but also in the United States. This partnership will be expanding rapidly as Toyota looks to implement the SmartFactory solution in more than 200 automotive and automotive plants across North America once the first implementation has been properly executed.
Yesterday, Kontrol provided more information on its current partnership with Toyota Tsusho as they have successfully completed the second major pilot. Referring to the end customer Toyota, General Manager of Toyota Tsusho Mr. Yuji Shibano stated: “Our Customer is very pleased with the results of our SmartFactory solution. In addition to their facility in Canada, the Customer operates 12 much larger facilities in the USA. We have started discussions to expand our SmartFactory solution to each of those USA facilities,”.
Kontrol has passed the tests with flying colors which has cemented the relationship. Moreover, given the size and credibility of Toyota and TTCI as clients, we would expect that the reputational uptick and notoriety of KNR in the market will increase substantially thereby impacting revenue positively by an unknown factor for some time going forward.
